Alhambra Pendant · Sterling Silver, Garnet
The Alhambra — Al-Qal'at al-Ḥamrā' in Arabic, meaning The Red Castle — is a palace and fortress complex built into the hills of Granada, Spain, its walls burnished red under Andalusian sun. Constructed by the Nasrid Dynasty beginning in the 13th century, it remains the apex of Moorish art and architecture: intricate surface work, radiating geometry, pattern upon pattern pressed into stone and plaster with devotional precision. This pendant carries that lineage.
Cast in 925 sterling silver using the lost wax method, the scalloped silhouette radiates outward from a central garnet in concentric layers of stamped pattern — each motif precise, the oxidized silver deepening every recess into shadow, the raised forms catching light across their peaks. At the center, a 6×4mm oval garnet, AA grade, its deep red a quiet echo of the fortress walls the piece is named for.
At 1.2 inches long and 0.8 inches wide, it sits close and considered against the skin. The sterling silver dainty cable chain is adjustable between 16, 18, and 20 inches — worn high as something intimate, or lower as something more present. Either way it carries the same quiet authority.
This is a piece made for someone who understands that the most meaningful objects carry a history that predates them. The Alhambra has stood for eight centuries. This pendant asks to be kept just as long.
Every Opaline Sprout piece is thoughtfully designed and intentionally constructed for real, everyday wear. We choose materials for durability, comfort, and long-term beauty - not just appearance.

With normal wear and mindful care, your jewelry is designed to retain its structure, finish, and polish over time. Should your piece ever need attention, our studio is here to help.
